The Location
The Location
Pender Island Mentorship for Artists (PIMA) is located on Pender Island, one of the Southern Gulf Islands in between Vancouver and Vancouver Island. It is small, quaint and beautiful, but has all of the amenities of the city: winery, distillery, restaurants, cider, golf and frisbee golf courses, and of course all the ocean and forest adventures you could wish for.
The Location of the residency proper is a rustic house at the end of private drive nestled into the trees on 1.5 acres of North Pender Island. Half of the house is comfortable living accommodations with all the comforts of home, and maybe even more: patios, fireplaces and fire pits, and a hot tub. When you’re not making art, it’s a comfortable and beautiful place to relax in and explore from.
The Space
There are two separate bedrooms with full bathrooms. There is the Master Bedroom with attached bathroom for a couple or single person; and there is the Antique Room with two twin beds that can be occupied by a single person, couple, or two artists that are willing to share the space. The Antique Room also has a full bathroom just outside it’s door.
The rest of the upstairs living area, kitchen, patio, and hot tub, are communal and respectfully shared.
The Lower Level of the space contains the studio, work room, communal bathroom, and Jay Senetchko’s private quarters.
